Everett Park Batting Cage Walkway Bricks

The Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Foundation is proud to announce that the Everett Batting Cage will be completed this fall. The Foundation had brought the baseball field at Everett Park to life. It was built in loving memory of Steven Brian Malin Jr., the son of Maria and current board member Steve Malin, who passed away in 2003 at the tender age of 11. The field features a statue of Steven Jr. to honor him and his love of the game. The field was recently officially named the Steven Malin Jr. baseball field.
With the expansion of the baseball program at the LF Parks and Recreation Center, a new need emerged—a batting cage at Everett Park. As one of the Friend's Foundation's first projects of the year, this addition will offer players of all ages a dedicated space to refine their skills. With the Junior Scouts Travel Baseball program launching in September 2024, the batting cage has become a top priority for the center.
We are finalizing the brick layout for the walkway to the batting cage. These bricks will match the ones currently around the statue of Stevie. For a limited time, you can purchase a brick for $100 and personalize it for your family, your own baseball player or even for Lake Forest.
